Departures

A river rafting journey of 03 days that travels 72 kms in a self supported manner through the beautiful valley of Ganges. You would daily raft an average of 20+ kms and experience river life at its best, enjoy camping bliss in the natural outdoors, evenings well spent with barbecue and bonfire. The rafting sections start from an easy float where one can swim and body surf and get acquainted with the team, and gradually it will move to action times which will see the rafters negotiate rapids that will thrill to the core. 

The Ganga is a clear water big volume river that has rapids that rate up to class 3+ in difficulty levels. Best time of the year to experience Ganga Rafting Expedition at its best is mid November till late March period.

A river rafting expedition is an active vacation that expect involvement from the guests at all levels, whether it is helping to setup the tents, or to lend your hand in collecting of wood for bonfire. The prime activities in a day are around rafting, and moving the camp from one point to another as we move down the river. All camping gear and provisions also travel with us on separate cargo boats. Post afternoons are at leisure where one can choose to have a volleyball bout or settle down with a book.

DETAILED ITINERARY

Day 01: Rishikesh-Devprayag-Beasghat / Mahadev Chatti

Our day will start early with a drive to Devprayag (2.5 hours) where the Bhagirathi river and Alaknanda river confluence to form the Ganga. After a detailed safety briefing we would paddle down an easy float section where one can enjoy swimming and body surfing. The stretch is ideal to get acquainted with the team and the paddling commands. Raft about 3 hours, to reach our designated location where we setup camp for the night. Remaining day is at leisure where one can choose to relax by the river or indulge in some group activity like beach volleyball. Enjoy a barbecue evening around a bonfire before a delicious freshly prepared dinner before hitting the sleeping bags for the night.

Day 02: Rafting till Byasi

Wake up to a beautiful morning and help with the camp packup. Today we would run couple of exciting rapids, including one of the biggest which is called "Wall". Post afternoon relaxed time to explore the great outdoors and experience communion with nature. Overnight tents.

Day 03: Byasi to Rishikesh

Today we would run over 28 kms of exciting whitewater of Ganges, and would encounter rapids like "Three blind mice", "Roller Coaster", "Golf Course" and several others. Finish the trip at the take out point near RIshikesh.

Inclusions

  • Experienced team having appropriate training and certifications for whitewater rescue and wilderness first aid.
  • All rafting gear - Life Jackets, helmets, paddles, splash jackets, safety kayaks, dry bags etc.
  • Suitable camping gear including tents, sleeping bags, and cooking/mess arrangements.
  • River permits, Forest/National parks entry fees/permits, inner line permits, all necessary legal paperwork & documentation.
  • Comprehensive first aid kit.
  • Travel arrangements connecting the starting and ending locations as detailed in the itinerary.
  • Camp stay on twin share basis for 2 nights with all meals ( lunch of day 1 till lunch of day 3 ).

Exclusions

  • Train/Air fares up to and from the starting and ending points.
  • Meals and refreshments during the road journey,
  • Insurance of any kind
  • Expenses of personal nature, alcoholic drinks etc.
  • Anything not mentioned explicitly in the schedule/program.

Example of a charge calculation:
If departure date is 10-March-2020 and cancellation was done on 6-March-2020 at 4:30 PM, then charges will be calculated as per last 04 days excluding departure date.However if cancellation was done on 6-March-2020 at 6 PM, then it is understood as last 03 days excluding departure date

This tour is operated from October to May months. Best experience can be had from early November to late December and from late January to March end.

Personal torch, quick drying clothes/swimming costume for rafting, waterproof floater kind of sandals with a secured back strap, retainer strap for shades or prescription glasses, cameras, sun protection/block cream, moisturizer, change of clothing to wear after the river trip, towel, toilet kit etc. Warm clothing would be needed from mid October to mid March.

Please pack compact and only necessary items. Do NOT bring any stroller bags or any hard suitcases. Best is to have sturdy airbags/duffel bags.

Rishikesh is well connected by road and railways.

Guests will be picked up from a pre-decided location in Tapovan area of RIshikesh.

INDEMNITY/DISCLAIMER AGREEMENT

All participants are compulsorily required to sign a disclaimer form that legally indemnifies TEAM 4 ADVENTURE and all team members against any mishappening on the tour. Prospective participants are required to understand this, and enroll for the tour only if they consent to the same.

CAMPING AND WILDERNESS DISCLAIMER

  • This tour involves camping in the wilderness, and guests are expected to rough it out, if situation so demands.
  • During most of the tour period, we would away from road support and any formal medical facilities. Communication to the outside world may also be severely limited.
  • Any evacuation would be demanding and costs for the same would be borne by the participants concerned.
  • Due to weather disruptions, road blocks, land slides and other situations which may not be under our control, the tour can get delayed or modified. Any costs or losses arising due to such unforeseen situations would be borne by the participants.
  • No personalized/room service is possible.
  • All meals and refreshments would be served in the common mess area at decided timings.
  • Toilets are tented dry pit based.
  • Bathing facility may not be possible.
